In a show of solidarity with the Nigerian workforce, the Member representing Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Amobi Ogah, has reiterated the commitment of lawmakers to improving the welfare of workers across the nation, commending the Governor of Abia State, Dr Alex Otti for transforming work environment in the State.

In an interview with journalists at the 2025 Workers’ Day celebration held in Abia State, Hon. Ogah encouraged workers to remain steadfast and dedicated to their duties, assuring that the National Assembly is working tirelessly to pass legislation that supports their rights and enhances their livelihoods.

The lawmaker commended Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, for prioritizing the welfare of workers in the state, describing his efforts as transformative. He noted that under Governor Otti’s administration, workers now receive their salaries promptly, with April salaries already paid ahead of the May Day celebration.

“Today’s celebration is filled with joy and colour, unlike the past when Workers’ Day was marked by hunger, anger, and frustration. Our workers now have every reason to smile,” Ogah said.

He further praised the state government for refurbishing public offices across the state, thereby creating a more conducive and aesthetically pleasing environment for workers.

“This administration has breathed fresh air into the civil service. Workers are now motivated, and that reflects in their productivity. I urge all workers to continue giving their best for the growth and development of Abia State,” he added.
