TAN Commends MOUAU for Sustaining M.I. Okpara’s Legacy, Felicitates Chief Uzodinma Okpara
The Traders Association of Nigeria (TAN), Abia State Chapter, has extended warm congratulations to Chief Uzodinma Okpara ahead of the second edition of the Michael Okpara Public Lecture, scheduled for today, May 2, 2025.
Organized by the Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike (MOUAU), the lecture forms part of the institution’s 2025 Founder’s Day celebration. This year’s theme is: “Agripreneur Model for Attainment of National Food Security and Economic Development: The M.I. Okpara Approach in Retrospect – Leveraging the South East Development Commission (SEDC) as a Modern Vehicle for Legacy Continuity.”
In a statement issued by its newly appointed President, Chief Chidi Nkem-Aruoma, TAN praised Chief Uzodinma Okpara for his dedication to preserving and promoting the enduring legacy of his late father, Dr. M.I. Okpara, a visionary leader renowned for his transformative agricultural policies in the Eastern Region.
The association emphasized that Dr. Okpara’s contributions to regional development and food security remain timeless, calling his legacy “A beacon of inspiration and a model worth celebrating.
“The enduring impact of Dr. M.I. Okpara’s policies on agriculture, education and economic empowerment continues to resonate across the South East,” the statement read.
