The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Abia State chapter, has condemned the deadly ambush that resulted in the killing of a police officer and two Chinese nationals in Isuikwuato Local Government Area on Thursday, April 4, 2025.
According to the Abia State Police Command, the victims, which included four Chinese expatriates and their police escorts, were traveling to their company site in Agukwu-Amaya, Ndundu Community, Uturu, when they were attacked by unidentified gunmen. Inspector Audu Saidu and two Chinese nationals, Mr. Quan and Mr. Cai, were killed during the assault. The assailants also stole Inspector Saidu’s service rifle.
In response to the attack, the Abia State Police, Nigerian military, and other security agencies launched a coordinated operation that led to the rescue of three Chinese nationals and two police officers. One of the officers was injured and is currently receiving medical treatment.
In a Release signed by the State Publicity Secretary of Abia PDP,Eric Ikwuagwu, expressed condolences to the family of the late Inspector Saidu, the Chinese community in Abia State and the Nigeria Police Force, commending the courage and sacrifice of security personnel amid the increasing security challenges in the region.
“This tragic event underscores the growing insecurity in the state and highlights the urgent need for heightened efforts from all levels of government to protect citizens, residents and foreign investors”.
The PDP, however, called on the Abia State Government to fulfill its constitutional duty to protect the people by working closely with security agencies to prevent similar incidents in the future. The party also demanded the swift apprehension and prosecution of those responsible for the killings.

The opposition party further reiterated its commitment to a peaceful and secured state and urged citizens to stay vigilant, cooperate with security agencies, and provide any information that may assist in ongoing investigations.
