Gov Otti’s Aide, Oluebube Chukwu, Applauds Educational Reforms Across Institutions In Abia
As a lover of the youth and education,the Senior Special Assistant to the Abia State Governor on Due Process, Dr Oluebube Chukwu, has applauded the move by the State Governor to commence major educational Reforms across tertiary institutions in the state.
In a chat with our reporter, Dr Oluebube Chukwu said the move would help to revamp the State’s education sector which has been in decay for many years.
Chukwu noted that with the construction of a 5,000-capacity hostel and a new cafeteria at the Abia State University, Uturu (ABSU), as announced by the Governor, Dr Alex Otti, when he paid an unscheduled visit to the school, the institution would experience modernized infrastructure, thereby, enhancing students welfare and learning.
He said efforts to rehabilitate collapsed drainage tunnels within the campus, would further ensure a conducive and healthy learning environment.
The Head Due Process and Public Procurement Bureau, further commended the Governor’s proactive approach in repositioning the state’s higher institutions, particularly those that suffered years of neglect, commending the administration’s commitment to revitalizing the Abia State College of Education Technical, Arochukwu (ASCETA), which he added has been in a state of ruin before Governor Otti’s intervention.
He, however, lauded the Governor for going extra mile to ensure the Abia State College of Education Technical, Arochukwu, is repositioned, bringing it to a world-class educational institution,thereby reclaiming all academic programs lost during the 2017 accreditation of the school.
“To restore ASCETA’s lost glory, the state government has already installed a 500 kVA transformer, launched a water project, fenced the over 30-hectare facility and assessed abandoned buildings for renovation. These strategic developments are aimed at securing accreditation and restoring the institution to full operational capacity”.
Dr Chukwu equally noted that the Dr Ogbonnaya Onu Polytechnic,Aba was not left out of the Gov Otti’s administration’s developmental plans, with the ambition to elevate state owned schools to degree awarding status.
The SSA on Due Process also emphasized that the ongoing education reforms of the present administration, reflected a deliberate effort to reposition Abia as a hub for quality education, ensuring that students in the state have access to world-class learning facilities and a more competitive academic environment.
