Ex-Lawmaker Honours Rt. Hon Benjamin Kalu at 54, Hails His Leadership, Legacy
As the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon Benjamin Okezie Kalu, marks his 54th birthday, accolades have continued to pour in from political associates, stakeholders, and constituents. One such tribute came from Hon Chijioke Chukwu, the former lawmaker who represented Bende North State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly.

Speaking in an interview, Hon Chukwu who is also a member representing South East in the Board of North West Development Commission (NWDC), extended warm congratulations to Rt. Hon Kalu, describing him as a beacon of transformative leadership and a pride to not only Bende Federal Constituency but to the entire nation.
According to Chukwu, the Deputy Speaker has distinguished himself as a pragmatic, focused and purpose-driven leader, whose approach to governance reflects a deep commitment to public service and national development.

He praised Kalu for his impactful contributions to legislative reforms, youth empowerment and the promotion of national unity through inclusive politics.
“Rt. Hon Benjamin Kalu is not just a politician, he is a symbol of excellence in leadership. His political trajectory, marked by resilience, intellect and compassion, has brought remarkable change to the lives of his constituents and has resonated across the entire country”, Chukwu said.
He further highlighted the Deputy Speaker’s outstanding ability to connect with people from all walks of life, describing him as a man with a large heart, one who leads with humility, wisdom and unwavering dedication.
“His intellectual acumen is undeniable. He approaches issues with depth and clarity, always prioritizing the collective good over personal interest. It is this rare quality that has earned him respect not just among his colleagues in the National Assembly, but also among ordinary Nigerians who see in him a true servant-leader”, Chukwu added.

In a more symbolic reflection, Chukwu remarked that it was no mere coincidence that such an iconic figure was born on the 5th day of the 5th month, a date he described as spiritually and symbolically significant. “The number five symbolizes balance, grace, and divine favour, all of which are evident in the life and leadership of Rt. Hon Benjamin Kalu. His birthdate is a prophetic confirmation of the great destiny he carries”, he said.
Hon Chukwu, however, concluded his tribute with heartfelt prayers, wishing the Deputy Speaker many more years of impactful service, sound health and greater accomplishments in his political journey.
“As he celebrates 54 glorious years, I pray that God continues to endow him with the strength, wisdom and vision to keep soaring higher. Rt. Hon Benjamin Kalu is a gift to this generation, and I am confident that his best is yet to come,” he affirmed.
