Chima Anyaso Visits Leprosy Settlement, Donates Food Items, Solar Powered Street Lights, Pledges Partnership
In a bid to improve the living conditions of inmates of Uzuakoli Leprosy Settlement, Lohum Umuimenyi, in Bende Local Government Area of Abia State, the founder of Chima Desmond Anyaso Foundation and a notable entrepreneur and philanthropist, Dr Chima Anyaso, has extended his generosity, by donating food items, solar-powered street lights, and other essential supplies to the settlement.
This is coming after the inmates’ recent appeal to the public for assistance over their deteriorating living conditions.
Moved by compassion and a strong sense of community service, Anyaso responded to the plea for help from the residents of the settlement by donating essential materials to help improve their living conditions.
The outreach, which was held on Sunday, drew smiles, songs of gratitude, and emotional testimonies from the inmates who expressed appreciation for being remembered and supported by the great Abia Philanthropist.
Recall, that Dr. Anyaso’s continuous efforts to uplift the vulnerable and neglected groups in the society, has endeared him more to the people, earning their love and admiration.
Speaking during the visit, Dr. Anyaso emphasized the importance of empathy and social responsibility, noting that true leadership goes beyond politics and business success, stating that it involves making meaningful impact in the lives of the less privileged.
He encouraged the inmates not to lose hope, assuring them of his readiness to partner with them and include them in future empowerment programs, while pledging his steadfast support.
“We must always remember that humanity is our common bond. These are our brothers and sisters who deserve care, dignity, and attention. My mission is to contribute to a society where no one is left behind”, he remarked.
Putting his words into action, Anyaso popularly known as Ofuji, led his team to distribute bags of rice, cartons of indomie noodles, tubers of yams, cash donations and alongside solar-powered street lights to be installed within the settlement to enhance security and improve visibility at night.
Dr. Chima Anyaso, who was later showed some parts of the residential building that had collapsed at the settlement, immediately intervened, promising that reconstruction work would begin without delay.
Ofuji’s intervention at the Leprosy Settlement, have however, set a precedent for others to emulate, adding to his long list of humanitarian activities, which include youth empowerment programs, educational scholarships, and rural infrastructure projects across Abia State and beyond.
