The Deputy Governorship candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP), Dr Chimaobi Desmond Anyaso, on Thursday, resigned his membership from the YPP.
In a letter addressed to the Igbere Ward A chairman of the party, in Bende Local Government Area of Abia State, Anyaso, said he was resigning his membership with immediate effect, as the decision to leave the party did not come lightly.
He said, “I write to formally tender my resignation as a member of the Young Progressives Party. This decision is not coming easy, especially considering the time, work and resources I have
personally invested into the party and the support, encouragement, and platform the party has provided me.
“I remain deeply grateful for the opportunity to have contested as the Deputy Governorship Candidate of our great party in the 2023 general elections. It was an honor to represent the ideals of YPP and to engage with the people of Abia State under its banner”.
Anyaso disclosed that he would always take pride in the pivotal role the party played in ushering in a new era of political liberation in Abia State. “We inspired a generation of young people to believe that true power rest with the people.
“I want to thank you personally, and the entire leadership of the party at all levels, for your camaraderie, commitment, and support throughout my time in the YPP. I remain committed to
the ideals of service, progress, and unity, and I look forward to opportunities to work with like-minded individuals for the betterment of our society.

“Please accept my best wishes for the continued growth of the party and the success of its endeavors”, it read.
It could be recalled that Dr Chima Anyaso alongside the 2023 Gubernatorial candidate of the party, Engr Enyinnaya Nwafor and the House of Representatives candidate for Ugwunnagbo/Osisioma/ Obingwa Federal Constituency, Hon Ibe Nwoke, visited the Governor of Abia State, Dr Alex Otti, commending him for his giant strides in the state, while congratulating him for his second anniversary.
