IRI-JI OFUJI 2025: Anyaso Pledges to Infuse Compassion, Nurturing, and Grandeur into Igbo New Yam Festival
The Iri Ji Ofuji Celebration, instituted by the ‘Obi Bende,’ ‘Ikenga Bende,’ ‘Ugwu Igbere Ebiri 1,’ ‘Nwoke eji aga mba,’ and ‘OFUJI Ndi Igbo,’ Dr. Chimaobi Desmond Anyasọ (Chairman/Founder of CAADES Group and Chima Anyasọ Foundation) is a remarkable event in celebration of his birthday (in Ala Igbere, Abia State) and the Igbo rich cultural heritage, Iri-Ji Ọhụ (New Yam) annual celebration is fast approaching.
This IRI JI OFUJI, which has been commemorated since 2022, will witness the forthcoming 2025 edition, marking its distinguished fourth iteration.
Each successive year has unveiled a unique theme, embodying a spirit of gratitude and the vibrant essence of Igbo culture, thereby fostering a sense of unity and jubilation among participants.
As we eagerly anticipate the 4th edition of the Iri-Ji Ofuji Annual Thanksgiving and Celebration in 2025, it is evident that this event will steadfastly uphold its tradition of excellence and cultural significance.
As the saying proclaims: #OfujiCares, this year’s celebration will resonate not only within Igbere, Dr. Anyasọ’s community, but will extend its embrace across the entirety of Abia State’s three Senatorial Zones: Abia South, Abia Central, and Abia North, particularly encompassing all 13 wards of the Bende Federal Constituency.
Dr. Chimaobi Desmond Anyasọ’s vision for the 2025 edition promises to unite not only his community, Igbere in Bende LGA, Abia State, in a spirit of festivity and togetherness, but also to elevate the entire Abia State through caring and grandeur.
The 2025 edition, marking the 4th installment of IRI – JI OFUJI, with its theme: “Celebration of Two Decades of Bountiful Harvest: The Role of Education and Training in Cultivating the Next Generation of Wealth Creators,” will take place from the 23rd to the 27th of September 2025.
