A strong condemnation has been issued over the recurring wave of violence and killings plaguing Benue State, as concerned citizens and leaders raise their voices, demanding urgent intervention from the Federal Government.

In a heartfelt and firm statement titled “Enough is Enough,” a prominent voice in Abia State and the 2023 YPP Deputy Governorship candidate, Dr Chima Anyaso( Ofuji), decried the senseless killings of innocent residents in the state, emphasizing that the victims are not mere statistics but human beings with families, dreams, and futures that have been brutally cut short.

“My heart goes out to the people of Benue, who have suffered immeasurably in recent times. This cycle of violence must end. No community in Nigeria deserves to live in constant fear”, the statement read.

Anyaso urged the Federal Government, security agencies, and all relevant authorities to take immediate and decisive action, not only to ensure justice is served but to prevent further bloodshed. He stressed that silence, inaction, or delayed responses from the government cannot be justified while lives continue to be lost.

“We cannot continue like this. Nigeria must rise to protect her people,” he said, adding a powerful message of solidarity with the people of Benue.

The statement further concluded with a call for justice and peace: “To the people of Benue, I stand with you. May those we have lost rest in peace, and may justice not be delayed”.
