2023 Abia Guber: We’re Not Coming To Show Our Face But To Win Election-ADC Governorship Candidate Boasts
The Governorship Candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC),in Abia State, Bishop Sunday Onuoha,has stated his Party’s readiness to win the 2023 gubernatorial election, while boasted that the ADC is not coming to show its face in the ballot paper, but to win the election with a wide margin.
Bishop Onuoha who made this known in Umuahia, during the official flag off of the ADC campaign and presentation of flags to the party’s candidates, said that the ADC is ready to win the 2023 election, disclosing that the party has further shown its readiness by involving every sector of the economy, especially choosing a female deputy Governorship candidate.
According to the ADC guber candidate, Bishop Onuoha, the party is bent on changing the narrative of the state, adding that a new Abia is possible.
He stressed that the vision for a new Abia started with the activities of the Abia’s founding fathers, who carved the name Abia from the four districts that made up the state( Afikpo,Bende, Isuikwuato and Aba), recounting that their efforts in repositioning the state cannot be undermined, promising to build on the legacies of the past leaders of the state.
“Abia is God’s own state, we will be standing on the shoulders of our great fathers to be tall. I will stand on the shoulder of a great business man,Orji Uzor Kalu,i will also be standing on the shoulder of a technocrat, Theodore Orji and the shoulder of an academician, Okezie Ikpeazu. I will stand on their shoulders and be taller than them”,he stated.
The ADC guber candidate further revealed that Abia would be receiving in him a 3in1 candidate,as he is a good business man, who has thrived in the communication industry, a good technocrat and academician.
“There has been a missing link in governance, since Abia is God’s own state, this is the time to hand over the leadership of Abia to God’s own servant”.
He further assured that the state under his watch would experience development and the security architecture would be boosted to ensure adequate security.
“We will create employment vista to solve the issue of unemployment among our youths.Young people will come out and celebrate their destinies. We’ll revive the Nsulu games village that has been moribund. That project has the capacity to employ over 10,000 persons. Sports academy will begin again.
“I will give priority to our health care system,as a matter of fact,if elected as the next Governor of the state,Abians will have access to free health care. Already over 800,000 Abians have benefited from our free medical treatment”.
Onuoha also disclosed that Retirees would be cabinet members in his time as a Governor, maintaining that he would develop the entertainment industry, discovering young stars in Abia.
He added that he would run a transparent government that would attract investors to the state, promising that workers’ salaries would be paid promptly, while the Education sector would be given adequate attention.
The Cleric, however, challenged other Governorship candidates to come out publicly to state their investment in the state, claiming he has invested multi billion naira into Abia’s economy.
In an interview with the candidate for Umuahia North State Constituency,Rev Blessed Amalambu Uchechukwu, said he is bringing on board integrity, honesty and accountability, stating that it takes a man of integrity to make good laws.
Rev Amalambu Uchechukwu, further disclosed that he would rejig the culture of maintenance among Abians, spotting it as the major challenge in the state and attributing it to the reason, some projects, especially roads fail in the state.
He stated that his first Bill in the ABHA, would be to end corruption and ensure workers are not owed salaries,adding that anyone caught withholding salaries of workers would be sanctioned.
“Any leader that holds arrears of workers salaries, should be held responsible, for the level of crime they force people into”.
Also,the candidate for Isuikwuato State Constituency, a multi dimensional profession, Barr Emenike Azuubuike, assured the people of his area a robust representation.
